Your imagination is God. It is the creative power through which you can manifest anything into the physical. In the teachings of Neville Goddard, he emphasizes the power of Imagination. This power is within you –it is not somewhere outside of yourself that you have to chase down.
Anyone who is struggling with manifesting or creating change in their life should see this as a huge awakening. “Out there” is simply a reflection of what is within you. There is no destination that exists outside of you, and it does not lie within another. No one else gives it to you. They may guide you, but if they do, a true teacher will tell you that the creative power is already within you. The more you fully realize this principle, that your desired reality is a part of your infinite potential, the more effective you become in manifesting your desires, and the more powerful you grow. It is not granted by some higher power than your higher power. You conceive this within yourself.
You may be reading this and thinking, “Okay, great, I’m powerful, God is within me, I am God, God is my imagination, got it!” This is conceptual, however. It is only the beginning of scratching the surface. Although you may believe in this concept very strongly, you must then grow in the realization of the principle. You must be in a state, not within a thought on the surface of your mind. We can all parrot the principle and the words (which is fine, for a time), but this must become a very deep intuitive knowing that is unshakable.
You are connected to the source of all that is. Your imagination, the creative power through which you can bring any vision into physical manifestation, is that source. Once you start realizing this more and more, you stop seeking things outside of yourself, because everything is within you. You must internally take action to unfold what is already within you, in your imagination. Unfolding from within harnesses a deep, strong feeling of conviction of your vision. Your conviction knows that it already is a part of you. This is your potential to be brought into existence. Your current physical reality is no more real than your imagination, yet they are inextricably linked. Your vision is manifested by your inner conviction. Allow that vision to unfold.
People ask me about the laws behind these principles. The law of reflection is the foundation of the outer world and the guiding law behind this principle. It reflects back to you your inner world, and can magnify it based upon your emotions and strongest beliefs.
In this two-part blog post, I will be discussing how your imagination controls your reality. Everything comes down to your beliefs. If you want to see your reality shift, you need to shift your beliefs.
Maintaining a State of Fulfillment
What you want is already real, because everything is already created. Your job is to reach within your imagination and feel it as real. Goddard taught the difference between thinking of what you want versus thinking from what you want. When you think imaginatively and remain dwelling within your imagination, reality responds to your imagination and feeling. You are communicating with your subconscious mind through your imagination. Your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between imaginative feeling and reality – it simply responds. Chasing creates struggle. Struggle creates more struggle. And it becomes a vicious cycle.
Many people ask me how to maintain the knowing and the mindset so that your vision unfolds. You must realize the power that you are. The power is your imagination. God is your imagination, and it is infinite potential within. Anything that you can conceptualize as possible is something that you can manifest in the physical world. Remember, the physical world is a reflection of your inner thoughts, beliefs and feelings. It is not something that you just believe, but what you know to be true. You grow into a deeper understanding of that knowing, and a deeper knowing of that principle. Even someone who already deeply knows this principle can always know it more intimately. It is an infinite understanding that is wordless. The more you deepen your awareness of your creative power, the easier it is to let go of the outer reality and take action from a state of fulfillment.
Deepening Your Awareness
But just how do you take action from a state of fulfillment? The energy of your imagination and your vision drives the unfolding of your desired reality.
The First Step: Meditation
Your first step must be to meditate. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of meditation. In order to realize your deeper power, you must go within and silence your mind. Then, it will be much easier to drop into your imagination. Meditation doesn’t mean sitting on a pillow chanting. Instead, you can go on a run, go on a hike, go ride your bike, take a bath, lay in your bed and close your eyes. Meditation is simply becoming quiet.
When clients have difficulty reaching their goals, it is because their true power, which lies
within, is being focused on outside thoughts and the external world. You must disengage from all external, preconceived perceptions, and empty yourself. Disengage from all of the ideas that you hold of your ego self. For example: your occupation, the car you drive, the neighborhood in which you live, the job you have. Fully experience the emptiness and the resulting awareness.
I recommend that you meditate every day for at least 10 to 15 minutes. The quickest way to get your brain waves into a theta state is by listening to Gregorian chants. Alternatively, you may listen to anything that is very soothing, or simply sit in the elegance of silence. The best time to meditate is immediately upon awakening or just before going to bed. If you meditate twice per day, disengaging from your world, you’ll see much faster results.
I formulated and created my own very powerful subliminal MP3s. You can find them on my website here.
The Ladder Visualization Exercise
Meditation, mindfulness, or mental silence is crucial. Wherever you find yourself in life, begin that practice now. It will help you to understand what you want and who you really want to be, and it will help you to deepen your realizations about yourself. If you want to know more about the creative power of visualization of imagination, spend more time visualizing. Perhaps you would like to practice Goddard’s ladder visualization:
“You do not visualize yourself at a distance in point of space and at a distance in point of time being congratulated on your good fortune. Instead, you MAKE elsewhere HERE and the future NOW. The difference between FEELING yourself in action, here and now, and visualizing yourself in action, as though you were on a motion-picture screen, is the difference between success and failure….The difference will be appreciated if you will now visualize yourself climbing a ladder. Then, with eyelids closed imagine that a ladder is right in front of you and FEEL YOURSELF ACTUALLY CLIMBING IT.” – Neville Goddard, “Consciousness is the Only Reality,” 1948.
Do the ladder visualization for five minutes every day. Then, let it go, and all day long, you will find the ladders you visualized everywhere. Why? Because you placed your focus on seeing ladders. In your subconscious mind, you saw the ladder, felt the ladder and even climbed the ladder. This is the golden key to creating and manifesting–to practice what you learned on the ladder experiment and then put it into use with your focused intention on what you want. This practice, will show you the feeling that you need to have when creating. The ladder is meaningless to you. It is an inanimate object used for a purpose. You had no emotional striving or attachment to the ladder. You simply cleared and quieted your mind, then visualized the ladder bringing it to life. It then manifested in your outer reality.
This practice teaches you knowing. Once you know that your assumptions will harden into fact, the next step is to break it down. You knew that you could manifest a ladder. You achieved it. Why is anything else any harder to manifest than a ladder?
Our beliefs stand in our way. How do we break that barrier? Through meditation. Through visualization, you can break through your fears and the beliefs that keep you paralyzed. Do you have a fear that your ex won’t return? Revise that picture in your mind. Are you feeling your heart resist because you don’t believe that is true? There is your belief, and that is why you are having trouble manifesting. There are no barriers except the barriers you create. Know that and change your mind now.
Then throughout your day, reconnect with the state of fulfillment and the energy of your desire already being completed. Practice imagining, because the more you practice your visualization, the more you become accustomed to the feeling. You become comfortable with your desired reality. You will then begin to bring it into the physical. You can’t expect to achieve results through the power of visualization and imagination if you don’t do it.
In part two of this blog post, I will discuss the second step towards deepening your awareness and living your dreams by imagining the reality you desire.
